Created during a period of transition, Becoming reflects on the experience of constructing identity across multiple worlds. Influenced by the artist's Nigerian heritage, European upbringing and life in Britain, the work explores the distance between who we are, who we have been and who we are still growing into.
The portrait is intentionally unresolved. It is not a depiction of arrival, but of movement.
